Congratulations go out to the recipients of the 2011 SPY's Community Foundation Scholarships and Awards. This marked the 25th year for the SPY's scholarship program. The overall total awarded this year was $10,000. The scholarship and award winners were:

Hayden Acker

Wesley Cramar

Cody Lindemulder

Cannon Ostrander

Orianna Ramos

Adam Senters

We salute this year's winners and wish them well as they continue their education. An extra special acknowledgement goes out to the many, many fine folks that have, and continue to support, the SPY's Scholarship Fund with their donations and memorial gifts. Through your generosity, you have helped over the years, 144 area young people further their education. What a tribute to our community.

Orianna Ramos and Cody Lindemulder were the winners of the "Richard Lenon Community Service Award" for 2011. Cody is the son of Lyle & Tina Lindemulder of Sunfield, and Orianna is the daughter of Duane & Buffy Meyers of Sunfield. It is the feeling of the SPY's organization that steps should be taken to recognize and reward youth in our community for becoming actively and productively involved in community betterment. The award is named after and given in honor of long-time community supporter, Richard Lenon. In addition to an engraved recognition plaque, each honoree also received $250 cash.
