Sunfield Area SPY's Report---4/15/10
Adopt-A-Highway Trash Pick-Up This Saturday
The first Adopt-A-Highway roadside trash pick-up of 2010 will take place this Saturday, April 17th. The SPY’s pick-up trash along M-43 for a mile in each direction from the blinker light on the corner in Sunfield. The spring pick-up nets the largest amount of trash, since it has been building up all winter. So, the need for lots of help is great. Anyone and everyone is invited to turn out at the Sunfield IGA parking lot at 9 AM. It will take about an hour of your time, but it is well worth the effort. It really gets the area spiffed up. Children no younger than 12 are welcome to participate as well. So what do you say? Lets have a BIG turnout for this first pick-up and get things looking good! For further information call our project chairman, Scott McWhorter at 566-7737. Hope to see you there!

The current crackers are tiger, cougar, camel, rhinoceros, kangaroo, hippopotamus, bison, lion, hyena, zebra, elephant, sheep, bear, gorilla, monkey, polar bear, seal and giraffe. To celebrate its 100th anniversary, Barnum's added the koala to the menagerie in September 2002.
Barnum's Animal Crackers are all produced in the Fair Lawn, NJ Bakery by Nabisco Brands. More than 40 million packages of Barnum's Animal Crackers are sold each year, both in the United States and exported to 17 countries worldwide. The crackers are baked in a 300-foot (91 m) long traveling band oven. They are in the oven for about four minutes and are baked at the rate of 12,000 per minute. Fifteen thousand cartons and 300,000 crackers are produced in a single shift, using some thirty miles of string on the packages. This runs to nearly 8,000 miles of string a year.
