+ Thought #2: It is criminal the way the politicians are giving our country away at such a rapid rate, in spite of the generations and generations of Americans that fought for what we have.

+ Non-Trivia Question-Of-The-Week: What do Juaise Peabody and Cris Glazier have in common? Give up? Here’s the answer---It seems the “Crinkle Cousins” have both developed a problem with parking vehicles and / or the moving of a parked vehicle. If you’d like to check our their handiwork just take a look at the newest “waves” in Cris’s RV, or the windowless back end of Juaise’s van. In fact Juaise’s little altercation has prompted her to do an act at next year’s dance titled---“I Fought The Garage And The Garage Won”.

50’s / 60’s Dance Epilogue

The Sunfield Area SPY’s 33rd. annual 50’s / 60’s Dance is now history, and boy was history made! A number of new “twists” were added this year. Most noticeably they were the “live” acts that were staged between the band sets featuring Lori Shannon and Joel McDowell and Denny Shoemaker (aka “The Blues Brothers”), as well as some technological advances that were implemented.

Juaise Peabody is and has been the chairperson of the dance for a number of years now and works hard to make it a success. She is helped by a fine group that make up her Dance Committee, namely Janet Keefer; Craig & Jackie Mulholland; Denny & Luanne Shoemaker; Joel McDowell; Darin Weller; John Fisher; Wendel Peabody and Craig Cappon.

The Soundwave Band provided the live music. During their set breaks, we once again staged our famous “acts”. This year’s performers were---Lori Shannon; Casie Shannon; Scott & Jan Ikle; Doug Waggott; Jackie Mulholland; Sandy Fisher; Darin Weller; Janet Keefer; Craig Mullholland; Denny Shoemaker; Wendel Peabody; John Fisher; Joel McDowell; Cheryl Roll; Luanne Shoemaker; Juaise Peabody; and the various derelicts, deviants; and delinquents that made up the Blues Brother back-up band. A finer bunch of talent has never before been amassed in one place.

We have a few shout-outs of recognition that we would like to send out to some really fine folks that made this year’s dance special. Thank you-----

+ Dale & Sarah Piper of Pied Piper Productions for helping us “elevate our game” so to speak and really add some professionalism to the acts this year. They are real nice folks!

+ Rob Piercefield and his crew at Swede’s Restaurant in Mulliken for opening up after hours to do a breakfast for the dance crowd after it was over.

+ And again, to Juaise Peabody and her Committee for all of their hard work and effort to keep the dance unique.

Thank you all!
