* Louie “Trouble-Shooter” Trowbridge’s Tip-Of-The-Week: This week’s topic is gas pump accuracy. Whether you’re traveling cross-country or right across the street, it pays to pay attention to the pump.
1) Make sure prices on the road signs match the prices on the pumps.
2) Check that the meter doesn’t start running until gas begins dispensing.
3) Watch that the gallons display and price display are moving at a consistent rate.
4) During a fill-up - pump 10 gallons and then check to see if the pump and the price match exactly. i.e. 2.95 X 10 = 29.50
5) Check that your receipt matches pump display.
If you feel there are errors call the 800 number on the pump to report gas cheats.
* From The Poker Table At The Tanked Fish Lounge: Once again we find Fishman, Bones, Socki, Geebus, Frizzy, and Puma sitting around “the table of knowledge” at the Tanked Fish Lounge solving all of the important social, political, and economic problems of the day. Today’s main topic of discussion was the proliferation of gang violence in the city. Socki hit the nail on the head with his nostalgic observation, “I have no respect for gangs today. They’re just a bunch of no-style punks. They just drive by and shoot people. Wassup with that? At least in the old days, like in West Side Story, the gangs used to dance with each other first before they got down to business.”
